Blueray is a Northern Highbush blueberry cultivar known for its excellent flavor and high productivity. Developed in the U.S., it grows into a vigorous, upright bush about 4–6 feet tall. The berries are large, powder-blue, and very sweet with a rich aroma, making them a favorite for fresh eating as well as for baking and preserves. Blueray ripens in mid-season (July) and provides heavy, reliable yields year after year.
The bush is also ornamental, with showy white blossoms in spring and bright red foliage in autumn. It requires cold winters (high chill hours of 700 hours ) and thrives in cool to temperate regions with acidic, well-drained soil.
